WHAT IS OUR SUMMER SCHOOL “LINGVALAND”?

Summer School “Lingvaland” is organized to give an opportunity to German and Russian students to study German and Russian in a team. The education in Summer School is based on communication among students. Summer School “Lingvaland” is not only language study but also a wide range of different cultural activities. Taking part in “Lingvaland” helps students to overcome psychological barriers while studying foreign languages and to get acquainted with some fundamentals of Russian culture and social life.

  • 2-week intensive educational programs in:
    • Russian Language and German Language (survival, basic, intermediate levels depending on the participants’ background. Groups are formed of 5 Russian students and 5 German ones according to their results after the test)
    • Russian culture (master classes)
    • Teambuilding activities
    • Lingvaland’s cinema (watching Russian and German films together every evening)
  • 6 hours of instruction per day
  • Groups of 10 students
  • Highly-qualified tutors and experienced outdoor activity instructors

Learning

Kursk State University “The Russian and German Language” program is aimed at acquiring communicative skills in native speaking environment formed by both German and Russian students and their teachers. Facilities, instructors, educational and social events are integrated into a program of the highest quality. Experienced tutors will help to explore the language through dialogues, role-playing and dramas and other exciting activities. Kursk State University opportunities to use Russian in the real world. Every day a new entertainment will give a chance to relax and practice everything you have learned. Individual approach will help to pursue your goals most effectively. Culture study includes a variety of exciting aspects devoted to Russian history, traditions, religion, arts and folk crafts, as well as glimpses of everyday life. Students will get a chance to compare existing stereotypes of Russia and its national identity, to get theoretical knowledge on Russian folklore, crafts, cuisine and to get practical skills in singing traditional Russian songs, playing the balalaika, dancing stirring Russian Kalinka and cooking Russian pelmeni. All mentioned above and much more is in the program “The Culture of Russia”.

Room and Board

You will stay at students’ hostel. Double rooms with a shared bathroom. Three meals a day meeting various tastes and diets.
